China is an attractive country for importing products to Mexico, not only because of the competitive cost but also because it denies the myth that all Chinese products are of “poor quality ”Additionally, we can add that the Asian is implementing measures to simplify foreign trade activities.

Many wonder what the basic requirements are for importing goods from China to México, here WE list the most important ones, based mainly on information provided by the SAT.

1. Keep in mind the customs procedures in China. Likewise, it's important to seek the advice of a customs broker.
2. Get to know the properties of the products you will import (weight, dimensions, price, shipping cost, and method) This also includes knowing in which category the goods fall in China: prohibited, restricted, or allowed.
3. Establish negotiation terms with your supplier from China: select the right INCOTERM to declare on the commercial invoice and define the payment method (usually credit cards only).
4. In Mexico, you must be registered in the Federal Taxpayers Registry.
5. Likewise, you need to register in the Importers Registry or in the Importers Registry of Specific Sectors
6. According to the Customs Law Regulations, you must submit the declaration of value attach to the following documents
   • Commercial invoice
   • Bill of lading, packing list, air waybill and other transportation documents.
   • Proof of payment
   • Proof of transportation expenses, insurance, and other related costs.
   • Incremental.
7. Register online the “Conferral of Authority to the Customs Agent to carry out Foreign Trade Operations”
8. Transfer online a customs declaration either independently or through a Customs Broker, with information related to the value and commercialization of the goods, for the purposes of Article 36 of the Customs Law.
9. Pay taxes and in some cases, cover countervailing duties, as well as obligations regarding non-tariff barriers and regulations.
